NECROSIS:

Spectrum of morphologic changes that follow cell death in living tissue.

It results from progressive degradative action of hydrolytic enzymes on the lethally injured cell.

Cause of Necrosis / Cell death

• Hypoxia/Ischemia injury

• Injury by Physical/ Chemical/ Microbial agents

• Immunological injury

• Coagulative necrosis
