Endometrial hyperplasia is defined as an increased proliferation of endometrial glands relative to stroma, resulting in increased gland to stromal ratio. It is an important cause of abnormal bleeding and is associated with prolonged estrogen stimulation of the endometrium. This can result due to anvovulation, increased estrogen production from endogenous sources, or exogenous estrogen.
