Adenomas  – are neoplastic polyps, based on epithelial architecture they include tubular, villous and tubulovillous adenomas. 

History: 

60 year-old male  presented with altered bowel habits and malena.

1) Describe the gross features of the specimen.

1. Segment of large intestine with a large exophytic growth. 

2. The growth is grey white and ulcerated. 

2) Mention the microscopic features of the given slide.

1. Colonic mucosa with a malignant tumor infiltrating the submucosa.

2. Pleomorphic tumor cells with hyper chromatic nuclei are arranged in glandular pattern.
