Slightly elevated alkaline phosphatise and normal proteins, albumin and A:G ratio

Hepatitis A and E – IgM antibodies for acute infection
Hepatitis B
Acute infection - HBs antigen, anti HBs antigen and anti HBc antigen (IgM)
Chronic infection - HBs ag + anti HBs ag (IgG)
Carrier state – HBe antigen
Hepatitis D
Co-infection with HBV followed by full recovery - low titres of anti delta antibodies of IgM type.
Co-infection with HBV in patients developing chronic hepatitis - High titres of anti delta antibodies of IgG type.
Hepatitis C – IgM antibodies in acute infection and IgG in chronic infection
